Founding director Chris Mulcock was born in 1968 and educated at Kings’ School, Worcester. He gained an Honours Degree in Valuation & Estate Management from the University of South West England, commencing his employment in 1989 with Donaldsons in London and qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1992.
He joined Gerald Eve in 2004 as a partner in London to re-establish a national investment team, and relocated to Manchester in 2009 to develop a regional transactional business. Following two years in Manchester, he was recruited back into London by Deloitte Real Estate, to create a new retail transactional platform with former Donaldsons’ colleagues.
After acting for Hammerson on the £258m purchase of The Junction Portfolio, he left in 2013 with four other members of Deloitte Real Estate to join BNP PRE as Head of UK Out of Town Retail Investment, building a new retail transactional team. He was appointed National Head of UK Lease Advisory for BNP PRE in April 2016, and was responsible for delivering double digit growth in revenue.
He has worked across all commercial property sectors but is particularly noted for his expertise in the retail sector, providing strategic advice on all aspects of purchases and sales, and on restructuring complex lease arrangements. He has extensive experience in sale & leaseback transactions and development funding. His role has also involved lease restructuring work for various clients, building upon the numerous relationships developed over more than 30 years with institutions, developers, occupiers and agents as an investment and occupational advisor.
Key projects throughout his career include; the development funding/stadium procurement of Morfa Retail Park/Liberty Stadium in Swansea, the purchase/lease restructure/sale of the House of Fraser stores in Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh, the purchase/underwrite/sale of the BLU retail portfolio, the development funding of JD Sports NDC, the purchase of The Junction Portfolio, the purchase of a 50% stake in Fosse Park.
Chris has spent the last five years developing Belfre Real Estate, creating a platform which allows him to work closely and deeply with investors to enhance asset values in commercial real estate, and with occupiers to optimise their cost exposure to physical property and release capital through lease regears.
